Brand and website design for design-led residential studios
Considered brand identity and Squarespace websites for interior designers, architects and architectural residential builders across Australia.
Fifteen minutes, free, no pitch. We work out what you need and whether we click.
You already know what good design does.
You spec the right palette, get the proportions right, and watch a room come alive because every decision was made with intention. Your clients trust you because your work is considered rather than templated.
Which is what makes the gap so frustrating when your own brand doesn't carry that same thinking.
The cost isn't that people don't like your website. It's that the clients who understand design investment, who'd pay your full rate without blinking, who'd make your portfolio sing, form a view before they ever get to the work.
WHAT I DO FOR
DESIGN-LED STUDIOS
Brand identity built for your practice. Positioning, tone, and a visual system that reflects how your studio actually works and who you actually want to work for. Not a mood board assembled from Pinterest.
Custom Squarespace websites. Clean, editorial, built to hold beautiful project photography without fighting it. Project case study structures that let each build breathe rather than compressing it into a grid.
Brand collateral systems. Capability statements, proposal templates, briefing documents, project handover packs. The documents nobody puts in their portfolio and everybody judges you on.
Art direction for photography. When you're briefing a photographer and need the imagery to sit inside your brand rather than beside it.

WHY STUDIOS WORK WITH ME
I understand the work. Twenty years of professional design experience, including senior work for Peter Alexander, Kathmandu, Spotlight and Premier Retail Group. Agency scale, in-house, and now independently. When you brief me, I understand what you're asking for at the level of detail that matters to you.
I don't over-design. No animation for its own sake, no gimmicks, no brand guidelines that read like a marketing textbook. Considered, editorial, quietly confident. You'll recognise the restraint because you practise it.
I understand the client experience. Your clients are spending somewhere between $15,000 and well past $250,000 with you. Every touchpoint sets an expectation, which is why the capability statement and the proposal template matter as much as the homepage. I treat them as one system rather than five separate jobs.
I'm not a metro agency. Based in Bathurst NSW, working with studios across Australia. Senior-level work without paying for an account manager, a design director, a junior and a studio in Surry Hills.
WHAT IT COSTS
Brand identity, from $6,650. Strategy, logo system, colour and type systems, and a brand book short enough that your team will actually use it.
Squarespace website, from $5,600. Designed and built around your portfolio, with the project case study structure sorted properly.
Brand and website together, from $8,500. The most common engagement for a studio rebranding or launching. Costs less than running them as separate projects six months apart, and the site gets built by the person who set the brand rules.
Collateral, quoted per project. Capability statements, proposal templates and document systems. Ongoing work can run as a monthly retainer.
Fixed price, quoted in writing before anything starts.

Are launching a new studio and want the foundations right from day one
Are moving upmarket and need the brand to move with you
Have worked with generalist designers before and want someone who understands design-led practices
Someone else is a better fit if you
Are looking for the cheapest option, which is a completely valid choice
Want something templated and live within a week
Don't yet have clear positioning, in which case start with a Creative Unjam
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Brand first, almost always. A website is your brand applied to a screen, so settling the brand means choosing your typography once rather than twice. If your identity is already strong and it's the site holding you back, we start at the site. I'll tell you which one you're in on the Sticky Beak.
-
No, and that's deliberate. Copywriting is its own discipline. I'll give you the page structure and a content plan so you know exactly what each page needs, and if you'd rather hand the writing over I'll point you at someone good.
-
That's usually the best case. The structure gets built around your imagery rather than the other way around, and a considered project template does more for good photography than any amount of decoration. If your library is patchy, we'll work out what's worth reshooting before we start.
-
I build sites so they're structurally sound: clean page hierarchy, sensible URLs, fast load, optimised images. That's included. Ongoing SEO is a separate discipline and a specialist will get you further, so if ranking is a priority I'll introduce you to someone who does it properly.
-
Yes. Plenty of practices come to me for one document and stay for the rest. If your identity is solid, a capability statement is a self-contained project.
-
Not at all. Most of my studio clients are in capital cities and we've never been in the same room. What the regional postcode buys you is senior-level attention without metro agency overhead.
