Strategic brand identity for founder-led businesses
Built to look as good as the business already is.
Packages from $2,600. Most projects run two to eight weeks.
Twenty years designing brands, most of them inside Peter Alexander, Kathmandu, Spotlight and Premier Retail Group. That same thinking, at your scale, without the agency overhead.
THE THREE WAYS IN
Little Bird tidies up the brand you already have.
Half Bird builds you a new one from the ground up.
Full Bird does the brand and the website as one project.
Not sure which? That's exactly what the Sticky Beak is for.
Who This Is For
This works beautifully if you
Have grown past your DIY visuals and want the brand to catch up
Want something you can use confidently every day, not a 47-page bible you'll never open
Are ready to attract better-fit enquiries and let the bargain hunters find someone else
Already have a logo worth keeping and need everything around it to match
It's probably not the right fit if you
Want the cheapest logo on the internet, and that's a completely valid choice
Need it finished this week
Would rather approve than collaborate. The good stuff comes from proper feedback
The LITTLE BIRD
For businesses whose logo is already doing its job.
Sometimes the logo genuinely isn't the problem. What's missing is everything meant to sit around it, so every social post starts with picking colours from scratch and hoping they land somewhere near last month's.
This sorts that out without redoing work that didn't need redoing.
Colour system built around your existing logo, with print and screen codes
Type system for headings and body, using fonts you can actually get to
Two Canva templates, set up and ready to go
Four-page usage guide so you stop guessing
Timeline: around 2 weeks
From $2,600 AUD + GST
Worth knowing: this one keeps your existing logo. If the logo itself is letting you down, or you don't have one yet, that's a Half Bird. And if the brand and the website are both past it, ask about Flip the Bird. Tell me what you've got and I'll tell you honestly which bird you need.
THE HALF BIRD
For founders ready to look as established as they are.
A complete identity where every piece was chosen to work with every other piece, instead of a collection of decisions made at different times for different reasons.
Complete visual identity: logo suite, colour system, type system
Four Canva templates you'll genuinely use
Brand guide that fits in 8 pages, not 80
Organised files for print, web and social
Timeline: around 5 to 6 weeks
From $6,650 AUD + GST
THE FULL BIRD
For businesses who want the brand and the website landing together.
It's called the Full Bird because half measures are how most people end up needing me in the first place.
Everything in the Half Bird
Five to six page custom Squarespace website
Page structure and content plan
SEO setup, so you turn up on Google from day one
Handover session so you can run it yourself
Timeline: around 8 to 10 weeks
From $8,500 AUD + GST
WHY WORK WITH ME
I've spent twenty years designing brands and campaigns that connect, convert and stay in people's heads. Most of that inside Peter Alexander, Kathmandu, Dotti, Portmans and Spotlight, where design had to do a job every single day and there was nowhere to hide if it didn't.
That's the standard that goes into founder-led work now. Same rigour, your scale, and you get me on every call rather than an account manager relaying messages.
THE Process
(Because You're Probably Wondering)
1. Kick-off and clarity
We get clear on what you do, who you're for, what you'd rather not be mistaken for, and what you actually want people to feel.
2. Research and direction
I look at your market, your competitors and what your ideal clients already respond to, so we're designing with information rather than instinct alone.
3. Concepts
Considered directions to react to. Two or three, not eighty-seven.
4. Refinement
We tighten the details and pressure-test the system in real applications, not just a pretty mock-up.
5. Delivery and handover
Organised files, a brand guide you'll open more than once, and templates that hold up when you touch them.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Probably not, and I'll say so. If the logo is doing its job and the issue is that nothing around it matches, a Little Bird is the right size of fix. You keep the logo and get the colour system, type system, templates and usage guide that should have come with it. A Half Bird is for when the logo itself is the limit, or when what you sell has shifted enough that the old identity no longer fits.
-
Not at all. Tell me your goals, what's working and what isn't, and I'll recommend the best fit. If you'd rather sort the thinking before committing to a build, the Creative Unjam is designed for exactly that.
-
Brand only runs $2,600 for a Little Bird to $6,650 for a Half Bird. Brand and website together starts at $8,500. Across Australia, identity work of this scope generally sits between $3,000 and $15,000, so you're in the middle of the market with retail-trained work behind it.
-
Little Bird around two weeks, Half Bird five to six, Full Bird eight to ten. Those assume feedback comes back at each milestone. Branding is collaborative, so the pace is genuinely shared.
-
A rough sense of who you serve, what you're selling and what you want more of, plus prompt feedback at the key points. That's it. If you're fuzzy on any of the first part, start with a Creative Unjam and we'll clear it up before a full project begins.
-
Yes, and that's the point. Properly organised files, Canva templates built for real use, and a brand guide short enough that you'll open it. Design-school perfectionism looks great in a portfolio and helps nobody on a Tuesday afternoon.
-
Yes. Clear type, strong contrast, readable layouts, and guidelines practical enough that your content stays that way after handover.
-
That's the Full Bird, and it's the best value of the three. Doing the brand and site as one project costs less than doing them six months apart, and the site gets built by the person who set the brand rules in the first place.
